Coulee Rock is a vibrant church passionate about Jesus.

Coulee Rock Church is an autonomous church. This means we maintain the right to govern our own affairs, independent of denomination controls. However, we recognize the benefits and safety of cooperation with other like-minded churches. Therefore, Coulee Rock has covenanted to affiliate with the Northlands Region, a group of churches with a common history and doctrine located in Wisconsin, Minnesota & North Dakota. We are also loosely connected with other churches and pastors throughout the United States with a shared history and vision with Coulee Rock Church. Although many of these churches are not formally affiliated the roots of these churches trace back together to the 1970s. Coulee Rock has been a part of this movement since Coulee Rock was planted in 2011.

Coulee Rock Church is a church plant from Cedarcreek Community Church in Eau Claire, WI. In early 2009 plans began to take shape for a church plant in La Crosse. In 2010, a team of 20 adults and 13 kids began the process of taking a giant step of faith and moved to the La Crosse area to be a part of planting God’s church at Coulee Rock. On May 10 of 2011, Coulee Rock had our first official Sunday service at our building at 3059 Medco Court.

Since this first Sunday God has graciously navigated His church through seasons of blessing and seasons of challenge. In 2014 our planting Pastor Doug Markofski unexpectedly stepped down. God, in His providence, called Pastor Dave Lennander to move from our parent church, Cedarcreek, to serve Coulee Rock. In 2017 the Lord blessed a capital campaign to add a foyer, office space & Sunday School Classroom to the front of the building. In 2018, Pastor Peter Steele moved from our sister church, Harvest Church in Warren, MN, to serve Coulee Rock as Pastor Dave retired. Through it all, we have clearly seen the Lord’s fingerprint on His Church at Coulee Rock and are eagerly waiting to see what He has in store for us in the future.

Our mission continues unchanged and steadfast: to reach the Coulee region for Jesus Christ! This includes getting the life-transforming, eternity-changing Gospel message into the hearts of everyone around us. It continues to be our pleasure, as a church, to labor for God in our community and beyond.
